Down-Patching WoW [Read Before Posting In This Section] Empty Down-Patching WoW [Read Before Posting In This Section]

I am posting this as an announcement topic in the Connection Help Section because this is one of the first things you should make sure is right before you can connect. If you World of Warcraft client is not the same patch as Fireblade's server it will not let you connect. If your client doesn't match Firablade's patch please follow these steps first before posting in the Connection Help Section.

    Current Fireblade Patch: 3.3.2

Step By Step Down-Patching WoW from 3.3.3 to 3.3.2 to connect to Fireblade.

Before beginning this you may want to copy your add-ons to a separate location to save them in case they get affected by this process.

Step 1. Make your way to your WoW Directory. (Where you have installed WoW) (Example: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) (Vista and Windows 7 may be located at C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft)

Step 2. Find and open the Data folder.

Step 3. Find and delete the Patch.mpq file. (You do not need to delete any others.)

Step 4. Then go back into your main WoW directory and open up Repair.exe.

Step 5. The repair window will pop up. Un-check all boxes and click the "Check Files Only" button.

Step 6. Wait for the repair to completely finish.

Step 7. You should now be at version 3.0.0.

Step 8. Use the Launcher.exe file to patch up to 3.3.2 (11403). Don't walk away while it is patching. Be alert so you don't miss the next step.

Step 9. Cancel when it wants to patch to 3.3.3. Or else it will to patch to 3.3.3, making this entire process worthless and force you back to the start.

Step 10. Make sure realmlist.wtf contains only "set realmlist fire-blade.servegame.org" (Without quotation marks.)

Now whenever you run World of Warcraft make sure you start it using Wow.exe, and not the default shortcut, or Launcher.exe. Or else it will try to automatically update.

Hope this helps those who are unfamiliar with down-patching. Smile

I will update this post as often as I can regarding Fireblade's current patch and Retail WoW's current patch.
